Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies (such as local storage) can serve the same purposes. They help websites remember who you are, keep you signed in and work securely.

We distinguish four categories:

• Strictly necessary — required for the service to function.
• Preferences — remember your choices and settings.
• Analytics — help us understand how the product is used.
• Marketing / advertising — used for advertising or campaign measurement.

These are required for signing in, security, session management, the payment flow, fraud prevention, remembering cookie preferences and core app functionality. They cannot be disabled through a cookie preference tool, because the service cannot work without them. Your browser settings can block them, but doing so will break sign-in and other core features.

Used to remember choices such as cookie preferences, UI preferences or language, where implemented. Escapo does not currently set separate preferences cookies.

Analytics cookies help understand product usage, performance, errors and improvement opportunities. Where the law requires consent for such cookies, they must only run after you agree. Escapo does not currently use any analytics cookies or scripts. If we introduce them, this page will be updated first and consent will be requested where required.

Marketing cookies are used for advertising, retargeting or campaign measurement. Escapo uses the TikTok Pixel to measure the performance of our TikTok advertising, and TikTok's Events API to record completed purchases as ad conversions. These load only after you choose “Accept” in our consent banner — the TikTok Pixel script is never downloaded, and no purchase conversion is sent to TikTok, unless you have given marketing consent. If you decline, no TikTok cookies or scripts run. For conversions we share only hashed (irreversible) identifiers and the purchase amount, never your raw personal data.

• Strictly necessary cookies (sign-in/session) cannot be switched off. TikTok advertising cookies are optional and off by default: a consent banner asks you to Accept or Decline, and TikTok loads only if you Accept. Your choice is remembered; clearing the escapo_marketing_consent cookie (or your site cookies) lets you choose again.
• The “Cookie settings” link in the footer brings you to this section.
• You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings (usually under Privacy or Site settings).
• Blocking strictly necessary cookies in your browser will break sign-in and other core parts of the app.

Based on an audit of our current codebase, Escapo sets:

• Authentication/session cookies (set by our authentication provider, Clerk — e.g. __session, __client_uat) — strictly necessary; keep you signed in and secure your session.
• A staff-only access cookie on internal admin pages — strictly necessary; never set for regular visitors.
• A marketing-consent cookie (escapo_marketing_consent) — strictly necessary; remembers your Accept/Decline choice so we can honour it.
• TikTok advertising cookies (set by the TikTok Pixel) — only after you Accept; used to measure our TikTok ad performance.

Third-party pages you visit from Escapo — for example the Stripe checkout page or external travel sites — set their own cookies under their own policies. Apart from the consent-gated TikTok Pixel above, Escapo loads no other analytics, marketing or tracking scripts. See also our Privacy Policy.
